Christino VaLerio 77, died December 19, 2009 at his home in Salt Lake City, Utah surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 18, 1932, in Edith Colorado to Crestino and Juanita Corrales VaLerio. Chris served in the Korean War where he earned the rank of first Sargent. He married Rowena Early in 1955 and had two children, Victor VaLerio (deceased) and Christina Herrera. Later divorced he re-married, Lucy Jack, December 20, 1971 in Salt Lake City, Utah and had two children, Buena Ventura VaLerio and Juanita (Jackie) (Rene) Monrraga). Chris worked at Hill Air Force base for 10 years where he also served in Vietnam re-building damaged aircrafts during the Vietnam War. He later worked for Amco and McKesson’s Medical and sold Insurance. He retired in 1998 after many years of working for Salt Lake Meals on Wheels program, where many of the seniors grew to love him and looked forward to his visits.
He was a great business man and owned many properties in the Salt Lake Valley. Chris was also a licensed pilot and loved the time he spent flying. He loved the outdoors, hunting and camping and just recently spent the last year boating with his family and grandkids who he dearly loved. Another of Chris’s loves was to travel and in the last few years traveled with his wife to many places around the world, Germany and China being his favorites. He also just recently returned from a month trip to China and Vietnam with his son and wife. He was a very hardworking, generous, and loving man. He will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his wife Lucy, sons, Buena Ventura VaLerio and Christopher Peterson. Daughters, Jackie Monrraga (Rene) and Christina Herrara. Three brothers and six sisters, Joe VaLerio, Tony VaLerio, Tom (Jodie) VaLerio, Sally (Manuel) Rodriquez, Trudy Lucero, Linda Johnson, Juanita (Don), Irene Trujillo and Carol (Eli) Rentera.
He leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and family friends Janessa and Jeweliana Turner in which he loved all of them very much.
He was preceded in death by his Son, Victor and Sister Gloria Romero.
Services will be held Monday, December 28, at 11:30 a.m. at Garner Funeral Home, 1001 11th Ave, Salt Lake City, Utah. The family will receive friends at a viewing from 10:00 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. prior to service.
Interment at Camp Williams Veterans Memorial Park, 17111 Camp Williams Road, (Redwood Road) Bluffdale, Utah.

The greatest gift, my brother Crhis gave me was a wonderful family. Lucy,Vennie,jackie and I love you and my heart rejoices to know he lives in you. Thank you for being there for him. He was so proud of you and loved you all so much. I will miss my brother, but when it becomes unbearable, I shall seek you out. Don't ever forget us. Please feel the same, any time you need anything or just want to talk, I am here. Your sister, Auntie Linda.

I was with Grandma Trudy when the picture of Mother Juanita had fell over and scared us, next morning we heard news and i just held on as Grandma cried.
