Dumas, Aron Craig - December 31, 2009
Aron Craig Dumas
04/14/67 – 12/31/09
Aron Craig Dumas, our beloved Hijo, Hermano, Tío, Sobrino y nuestro Amigo found peace. A graduate from South High School in Salt Lake City, Aron went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and History from the University of Utah. Aron affectionately involved himself in community work and was the Vice President of the America Indian Leadership club of SLCC where he continued his education and expanded his artistic talents. Aron was a comforting, warm, and balanced man (even in his imbalance), who cared for and helped others. Everyone that knew him will treasure fond memories of the moments they shared. We would like to invite all those touched by Aron’s life to join his family and friends in sharing these memories on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at 2:00 pm and a visitation from 1:00 to service time at Garner Funeral Home 1001 11th Ave.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donation be made to a fund that has been set up in Aron’s name with any Utah First Credit Union. Proceeds will be used to assist his family with expenses and any additional proceeds will be donated to the Utah Food Bank.
Aron, we miss you already and as time goes by we will only miss you more, but now I know I have an Angel on my side.
“I wish I was traveling on a freeway beneath this graveyard western sky, I wanna set fire to this city, yeah into the desert we’re gonna ride”

Aron was a very gifted man. He was a dear friend of my brother Zay Speed. When Zay went through a difficult time and fled Utah, I lost all contact with him. Aron and I had emailed each several times before my brother left. I admired his wit and intelligence. I turned to him when I lost touch with my brother. Aron put us back in touch, which no one else was able to do. Aron and Zay remained close friends until Aron left this world much to soon. He was an exceptional and creative man. I admired him for that, and am so sorry for his family and friends whom he has left behind. You were a very special person Aron. The world is poorer place without you. RIP.

I was so sorry to hear about Aron's death. He was a wonderful friend and a marvelous storyteller. I loved his quirky insights into SLC society and will miss chatting with him about books, life and love. My thoughts are with you.

Aron was a good friend to me for a long time. I have a lot of fond memories of him. The last time I saw him was at my own Fathers funeral in August. I was touched that he made the trip up to Ogden to comfort me. I'll miss talking about books and music and all sorts of other things with him. I'll miss playing "all the stars are out tonight" with him. My heart goes out to Jan, Koni, and CJ and all his friends and family that will miss him dearly. See you on the other side Aron.

I've known and loved Aron like a brother for quite a few years, and was saddened deeply to hear of his passing. I will miss his humor, his insight, his sense of adventure, his love of beauty and fun. I feel terrible that I was unexpectedly out of town last wednesday, the day of his memorial service, when I hoped to share my memories and love and condolences with his family and other friends directly. Go in peace, mi hermano!
