Dehlavi, Nasiroldin - February 9, 2010

 

Nasiroldin Dehlavi, age 91, died on Feb. 9, 2010 at 5:30am at home in SLC, surrounded by his family. He was born on March 21, 1918, in Tehran, Iran. Mr. Dehlavi graduated from Tehran University in 1953 with a degree in law and held various managerial positions in the Ministry of Finance. In retirement, he
immigrated to the U.S. and settled in SLC. He loved nature, flowers and hiking. An avid reader, he was a scholar of history, politics and Persian literature. He is survived by wife Shokat, son Mehrdad (Priscilla), three daughters, Soheila (David S. Wheeler), Azita (Chris A. Shelton) and Mitra, six grandchildren (Adam,
Darya, Nathan, Arman, Sahar, Alex) and a younger brother Ziaedin Dehlavi. He was preceeded in death by two older brothers and two older sisters. His oldest sister, Meher Taj Rakhshan, was a prominent figure in the Womens' Rights movement in Iran. A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 12 from 10am-noon at Garner Funeral Home, 1001 11th Ave. SLC, UT. 84103, 801-363-7065.
