Kennedy, Lucille - February 12, 2010

Lucille (Lucy) Kennedy went home to her Heavenly Father at age 81 on Feb. 12, 2010. She passed peacefully at home with family at her side. Lucille was born Aug. 27, 1928 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Hersel Muse and Rosalia Anderson. She married Fred (Bud) Kennedy in 1952 and then sadly lost him in 1988. They were blessed to have 6 children, 1 boy and 5 girls. She was an active member of the LDS Church where she held various callings. Her faith in her Heavenly Father pulled her through the difficult times of losing her husband and her precious granddaughter Sherri Matchett. She is with them now. Mother’s faith, friendship, unconditional love and of course her “spunk” touched so many lives. She was loved by all who knew her and will truly be missed. Mom loved to work and did not retire until the age of 76. She always said that it kept her young, and she was right; she was the “coolest” Granny around. Lucille is survived by 1 sister Viola Gwinn; 6 children Gary (Kathy) Kennedy; Susanne (Steve) Matchett; Mona (Eric) Kennedy; Virginia (Rick) Murphy; Debra (Brady) Hortin; Holly (Todd) Muir; 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. We would like to express our gratitude to Julie, Heather and Haven Hospice for the loving care and support they showed our family during this difficult time. Services will be held at the LDS Carmel Ward building, 10710 Shelborne Rd, Carmel, Indiana on Friday Feb. 19, 2010. Viewing will be from 10am-12pm with Funeral Services immediately following.
