Packages A,B,C and D from Garner Funeral Home are only available and given when the casket or alternative container used for services is purchased from Garner Funeral Home. Any additions to the items included in a package will require payment in excess of the package price.

BASIC SERVICES OF FUNERAL DIRECTOR AND STAFF

Our fee for the basic services of funeral director and staff includes, but is not limited to, staff to respond to initial request for service; arrangement conference with family and responsible parties; arrangement of funeral; preparation and filing of necessary authorizations and permits, recording vital statistics; preparation and placement of obituary notice; and coordination with those providing other portions of the funeral, e.g, cemetery, crematory, vault companies and others as required. Also included in this charge are overhead expenses relative to our facilities such as professional licensing, legal and accounting fees, insurance, building and utility expenses, parking lot and grounds, maintenance, taxes, equipment, furnishings, inventory costs, record keeping, and secretarial and administrative expenses.

This fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select. (This fee is already included in our charges for direct cremations, immediate burials, and forwarding or receiving remains.)

EMBALMING

$650
Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with a viewing or Mausoleum entombment. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial.

RECEIVING REMAINS FROM ANOTHER FUNERAL HOME

This charge includes temporary shelter of remains, basic services of staff, pick-up of remains, and transportation of remains to cemetery or crematory within 50 miles. This charge does not include visitation, rites, ceremonies, (Funeral or Graveside Services,) service vehicle or limousine.  

IMMEDIATE BURIAL

The charge for immediate burial includes removal of remains, one day of refrigeration, local transportation to the cemetery and basic services of staff. This charge does not include embalming, dressing and cosmetizing of remains, the use of facilities and staff for any visitation or ceremony, public or private, prior to burial.

DIRECT CREMATION

The charge for a direct cremation includes removal of remains, one day of refrigeration, local transportation to crematory, crematory fee, and basic services of staff. This charge does not include the use of facilities and staff for any visitation or ceremony, public or private, prior to the cremation. If you want to arrange a direct cremation, you can use an alternative container. Alternative containers encase the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard or composition materials (with or without an outside covering). The containers we provide are cardboard, fiberboard boxes and wood.

CONCERNING CHILDREN

Our charges for children's services are based on a percentage of the professional fees found on our General Price List. Charges for Merchandise are in addition to our professional fees.

5 years to 8 years 50% of the Traditional Service Fee
9 years to 12 years 75% of the Traditional Service Fee
Charges for cemetery property, vaults, markers, professional cemetery services, etc. are in addition.  

PAYMENT POLICY
The passing of a loved one can be a difficult experience. We believe that it is important to recognize and understand that a meaningful celebration of a life well lived, will assist friends and family transition through this experience. Our mission is to give direction and assistance in arranging an appropriate service or gathering in order to meet the individual needs of all whom we serve.

It is also important to be realistic in respect to burial, cremation, and remembrance expenditures. We do not want a family to feel like they spent more than they should have; nor do we want families to feel that they received less than they would have liked. What is important is that arrangements be in keeping with the family’s wishes and budget.

Provisions for payment are due at time of arrangements. To help avoid any possibility of misunderstanding or embarrassment and for your convenience, we accept the following methods of payment:
